Posted 28 Jan 2019 by Dylan Post: All that crying everytime there are no GPU tasks: in that case just donate your GPU power to another project, e.g. Folding@Home or something else useful. Milkyway or Einstein, but neither are biomed. Just install F@H with it's normal software. It is pretty decent. |

Posted 27 Jan 2019 by Dylan Post: Same here. No tasks. Would love to help you boys out by getting more jobs to run. That's just the nature of this project, sometimes. They send work in batches at a time, so the well runs dry every now and then. I would recommend a back up GPU project. I use Milkyway@home. Just set the project preferences to 0% resource share and it will only give WU's when GPUGRID is not. |

Look at the Server status page and you will note that there are no unsent WU's left in the current batch. My recommendation is to attach a backup GPU program, such as Milkyway@home or Einstein@home, etc. Set them to only give you Nvidia GPU tasks (or CPU if you want those too) and then under the project preferences page, set the resource share to 0. This will make the project only give you WU's when the main project (GPUGRID) is not giving you work. |

Posted 21 Jan 2019 by Dylan Post: I have seen similar stalls. Just now: I have a 1060 6GB with the 416.34 driver and don't have this issue, but I use chrome, not Firefox for youtube. Another thing, I use an extension that makes youtube stream in H.264 instead of VP9. I don't know how this compares to Firefox though, sorry. Maybe test it with Chrome. That would give them the biggest gain and their supporters crunching satisfaction! Mega-crunchers would continue getting their mega-credit with the sheer amount of crunching work produced. That's pretty obvious methinks. It is an obvious solution, however, it is hard to do, otherwise it would have been done a long time ago. |

Posted 9 Jun 2013 by Dylan Post: I get the same message from the Control Panel. The only problem that would arise would be that you wouldn't be able to change your Control Panel settings. So far, crunching has gone well for me, without any problems. Also I recently overclocked the Intel HD 4000 to 1600mhz at 1.350 volts. If you ever overclock, tell me what kind of stable clocks you reach, I'm worried because 1.350 volts is the max the bios allows you to set for GPU voltage, but no other voltage is stable at 1600mhz. |

Posted 8 Jun 2013 by Dylan Post: To start off, I used the Intel driver that MSI provides for the motherboard, and not the one found on Intel's website. For whatever reason, the Intel driver didn't work for me. I also use Bios version 2.10 I ran into a blank screen, also. I moved the VGA cable from the discrete GPU to the motherboard, where the Intel GPU started using it and the monitor came back to life. Once I did this, I couldn't use Nvidia Control Panel and Intel's Graphics Panel appeared, therefore I assume that the integrated GPU is now the primary graphics and the Nvidia GPU's are secondary. According to Intel, the integrated graphics support OpenCL 1.2. I'm mentioning this because you (skgiven) said you weren't able to use both discrete and integrated GPU's at the same time. |
