Yes , it seems like Rosetta@Home is working on Corona; but this project is CPU only.

At this point, there is absolutely no need, to promote this project to anybody, as it currently cannot even supply enough work to the current volunteer base.

Well, you can switch to F@H during periods where the work from GPUGrid is less or zero and switch back if the GPUGrid server is full of WUs again. I do it just the same and do not know where the problem is.

All that crying everytime there are no GPU tasks: in that case just donate your GPU power to another project, e.g. Folding@Home or something else useful.

As said, those WUs do not work properly. I am away for another project and come back, if they are fixed.

new WUs don't seem to work: they consume a lot of memory, throw computation errors or just rest at 10% progress forever.

In the realm of non-profit research, it is entirely collaborative. Even if what someone is researching doesn't seem like it would make a difference, what they discovered could be the holy grail for another researcher team. You see this time and time again throughout our scientific history.

I am electrical engineer and software developer myself, so I'm aware of how development processes take place in general. Also I know, that our work is / can be helpful, otherwise I would not be here, of course - but this did not answer my question / is nothing new to me. But then finally Stefan answered my question perfectly. I would like to see direct drug design in the future :)

Eh, I would not go as far as to say it's mostly a tool for PhD students as BettingSlip mentioned (although I'm sure he didn't mean it in a negative way). The theoretical research being published is used to progress science and the specific field, it's not like this work ends up as fluff for a PhD thesis.

Simulations we have done have provided interesting insights in disordered proteins, protein-protein associations and more which can be used by the industry as BettingSlip mentioned.

Currently we are also trying to get more into drug design in our lab so you might see interesting more direct applications in the next few years.

But yes, the connection between theoretical and direct application is often hard to see or appreciate, which is what leads to lack of funding for basic research which is arguably inefficient in the long term.

Good clarification - then it's just the way I already assumed it to be.

Is our crunching work directly used for a cure / medicine, or is it just published as theoretically simulated / calculated results?

48 QM WUs are 192 (CPU) threads. I need 4 computers to reach that.

I have had libc6-dev already installed... Earlier I got a bunch of new WUs, but all failed after several minutes of calculation (~ 5 - 15 minutes).

Sometimes they work and sometimes not. If two or more WUs start at the same time, they all throw calculation errors. This was the state until now. But with the very new version you just released today, it seems like they are not working anymore at all. My operating system is Linux Mint 18.3 64 Bit with actual linux kernel. I installed boinc with "sudo apt-get install boinc". gcc-5 and g++-5 are installed; also python-support.

If two WUs start at the same time, in most cases one of the WU failes right at start and throws an calculation error, which is very inconveniant, if you have to start often times more than one WU at the same time (in my case up to 20 WUs on my 80 threads machine). Would like to hear some statement of the developer(s) or simply a bugfix within the WUs, because at the moment, I do not see any suitable work around. Don't think it's just your fault or mine, because several users have reported this issue for a while now.
