Crazy credits like Bitcoin Utopia

Post: I'm old timer and I don't accept millions of credits for nothing. Long run bonus - ok; special hardware bonus - ok; High error rate bonus - ok; Linux vs Windows bonus - ok; Short term bonus - ok; We made mistake and credits are high this batch - ok; But hundrets/thousand time more credits for nothing - not ok. |

Post: I think He connects it to other projects, like Einstein@home, where similar GPU can do ~ 6-7 times less credits a day. I personally started similar topic on Minecraft, where 1 thread of 4600h CPU can produce ~ 800k daily - far from fair to other projects. We all know that different projects have different approach to credits, but still - there should be borders. BU was ok as GPU produced fair amount of credits - only ASICs where many times faster. It just exploded statistics :) |

Post: Last time I have changed MOBO and CPU + RAM + system and have installed newest drivers for 1060 3GB. As far as I may observe (different CPU and system) times are equal to drivers version 382,53. At least here and in PG sieve. |

SWAN_SYNC Enable/Disable
(Message 49816)
Posted 7 Jul 2018 by tito
Post: Obviously more powerful CPU and weaker GPU: SWAN_SYNC gives less. But in my case... Few days ago I tried trick and my run times decresed from ~ 20k to ~17,5k seconds (yes I'm aware of different WUs - that's average). GPU is OC 1080Ti, but CPU is old XEON 1230V2 - 2 WU at once. https://www.gpugrid.net/results.php?hostid=197892 |

How to reduce the graphic card usage?
(Message 49472)
Posted 13 May 2018 by tito
Post: I use laptops for crunching for years and only problem I had was damaged fan (1 bearing was noisy). Ola - I didn't find information if You use cooling pad. If You don't use it - start. Now I have 1 laptop that crunch with CPU only so it's only raised a 2cm over desk. Other laptop crunch with CPU and GPU (only 1 heatpipe and 1 fan): it has https://www.arctic.ac/eu_en/arctic-nc.html that cooler under. Additionaly in MSI afterburner I reduced "power limit" as much as it was possible. That keeps GPU at lower frequency and voltage. |

New Beta app for AMD GPUs
(Message 40032)
Posted 4 Feb 2015 by tito
Post: How about credits? How are they calculated per WU? For now it's 1500 per WU but on XEON 1230V2 + 7950@1100 it gives ~ 160000 daily? Sounds little disappointing cause it takes 8 threads of CPU. Do You plan any adjustment in future or is it final? |
