I like Linux Mint, which is based on Ubuntu, I think. But the GUI is more familiar to windows users, IMO. Either will work just fine.

On two 3090ti computers and one 3090 11 work units have error out between 2-4 hours of run time. Previous successful task run times went between 17000-18500 seconds. Errored tasks are 5000-8500 seconds. I am killing the ap in preferences until itself out.... All 8 of 8 tasks I have completed and returned also categorized as error. How much is "a lot" exactly? I have a pacal card, so it meets the compute capability requirement. But it has only 2gb of VRAM. But without knowing the amount of VRAM required, I am not sure if it will work.

For these tasks, they have been issued many times over too many and failed every time. Looks like a problem with the tasks and not the clients running them. They will eventually work their way out of the system. But a few of the windows tasks I received today are actually working. But in project preferences, there is only one ATM app listed. We need a way to select both/either in our project preferences.

Are you saying that you have received windows tasks for ATM? no I don't run windows. i was just asking if you had the beta box selected because that's necessary. but looking at the server, some people did get them. someone else earlier in this thread reported that they got and processed one also. very few went out, so unless your system asked when they were available, it would be easy to miss. you can setup a script to ask for them regularly, BOINC will stop asking after so many requests with no tasks sent. Yep. As I said, I have an updater script running as well.

A Follow-up: The d/l seems to stall eventually. But going into Boinc and turning off/on networking seems to restart the d/l at a reasonable pace, and be done in a matter of minutes in stead of hours. This project need to get their networking in order.

Kudos to whoever was watching our conversation here. It's also running a lot slower - nearly two minutes for each 2.5% step - so hopefully we're starting to get some real science done. Did the fix require the whole app to be re-downloaded? Please say no...

Of those 8 minutes, the first several minutes showed zero load on the GPU. I assume it was unpacking the task then. So it really ran for only about 5 minutes on the GPU.
