I had a few problems earlier where Ubuntu would freeze completely, and I had to recycle power to get it going again. That was with the standard 177.82 drivers (But, I'm still not sure whether that was GPU related, or not). This is a dual-boot system and the Wus run fine on exactly the same harware, with the card overclocked to 700MHz, on Windows 7. My current Wu has been running for ~3hrs now and seems to be ok. Your card seems to be factory overclocked (shader @ 1.40 GHz instead of 1.25 GHz), but as you say, this shouldn't cause the errors if it works under Win. Yes, it has a factory OC to 666MHz core, 1404MHz shader and 1152MHz memory. XFX GTX 260(216) 'Black Edition'. The next WU from this pc has just finished and validated successfully so, hopefully, it was just a minor glitch. I'll post further if I have any more error out.
