Help, I\'m stuck in the B step of installation : Select Settings -> System settings -> Install Other OS. Then, PS3 search \"other os installer\". The message is something like \"PS3 can not found any SO\" I\'ve tried with a USB 2.0. The USB folders are ok \\PS3\\otheros\\otheros.bld Anybody has found the same trouble ? Any idea ? Thanks |

I think the current directions missed a step. I have in my notes that 2 files need to be on the install device in the \\ps3\\otheros folder: otheros.bld (bootloader) and otheros.self (bootloader installer) otheros.self can be found at http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/installation/ps3/ Try that. |

I haven“t needed a otheros.self, but I had used a CF card to install the otheros.bld... Maybe try to use a SD or CF card if you own one... pixelicious.at - my little photoblog |

Ok, otheros.self is not needed anymore if you update the firmware to the latest version as we indicate in the ps3grid installation webpage. |

Ok, Mine boots, but then does not list (using tab) the resolution selections for booting Linux with the PSGrid client. It only lists Linux and Old. I have about three other distros on my 120GB PS3 HD, but that shouldn\'t matter as the otheros.bld file you guys provide only looks at the USB drive (I assume). At any rate, it hangs on boot. I wish you guys would have compiled one of the graphical boot loaders, not that that would make a difference. Also, I tried two different sticks. One is a 512MB older USB 1.0, and the newer one is an OCZ speedy 4GB drive. No good on either. Any thoughts as to why? Yes, they are both as FAT32, and the file structure is correct or the otheros.bld would not have been found. I have placed the files on the stick both from a PC under Windows and from within Linux in case that mattered, which it didn\'t. |
