Getting the following error message;

Could be just that no work was available -- GPU work just ran out, but was recently replenished. Try to manual updates and see if you get any work over the next couple hours.

i have had the same problem, so i had to resolve to crunching seti-cuda wus on the fx1700s.

I think the gpugrid wus arent compatible with the g84 chipsets..

Can anyone confirm this please? If i can figure it out, id rather crunch out gpugrid wus then seti ones :)

The G84 chipsets are compatible (they are also found in the 8600GT and 8600GTS which several people are using).

The only 'chips' that are not compatible with GPUgrid are the G80's. You should be fine.

You could be having a Scheduling problem with the Boinc client...
