I\'ve searched around tirelessly for a functional way to get my PS3 running YDL to recognize the wireless card - to an endless frustration. Most sites direct you to delete the eth0 (LAN) port and then add the \"PS3 wireless\" that is supposedly listed in the devices available. But no matter what I do, that PS3 wireless hardware does NOT appear anywhere. I\'ve updated my YDL software to the latest version and reinstalled 2 or 3 times, but nothing changes.

Can anyone provide some advice or instructions that will work???? Thanks!

when attempting to setup the wireless card, it has one category that says \"other wireless card\" and all the wireless adapters listed are those of other manufacturers, nothing saying \'sony\' or \'ps3\'.

Which YDL version do you use?

5.0.1 is the only the first with wifi driver.

we have never used wireless.

Is it possible to get the wireless card in the ps3 to work in ydl?

A big part of me using my ps3 for crunching has to be me not running a cable to it for net access.

Going to be \"adopting\" a PS/3 by year\'s end, strictly for crunching, no gaming.

I\'d like to crunch for Boinc / PS3Grid, but the apartment I am now renting is in a private home, and provides internet access via wi-fi only. Landlord will NOT provide ethernet cable into apartment.

And can NOT use a solution that will require any hardware to be applied to landlord\'s hardware providing the wi-fi signal.

Need some sort of device (a \"bridge\" ?) that can receive (inside my apartment) the wi-fi signal (from landlord) to the internet, and then \"convert\" the wi-fi signal to then use an ethernet cable to connect to the PS3 (because Linux for the PS3 does not work with wi-fi?).

What type of \"bridge\", if any, can I use to participate in Boinc / PS3 Grid? (Make & model #, so I can look at, and locate similar)

Or, am I only left with F@H to crunch for?

You should be able to use something like and this is just an example as I have one on my desk, not in use yet, a D-Link DPR-1260 Wireless Print Server. Visit D-Links web site for details. Or any of the wireless manufactures. There are many similar products. Beside the print server part, you can connect one computer via wire to it and it asks as the wireless \"bridge\" sending to/from the wireless device of your landlord. You would need to check first though what type of signal his outputs, is it regular wireless, type G or type N and then select the a device compatible with it. Hope this points you in the right direction.

I got the wireless to work!!!!!!! Not sure how, but during startup and install of ydl I did tell it to use \"other wireless controller\" I did not see a ps3 controller on there I just used the \"other\" and it worked fine.

Sorry for not taking any specific notes on the install, hope it helps.
