ok im running a quad q600 Geez. You wanna fry me up some food on that thing?? 120C is way out of spec. I couldn't find the temp Nvidia says is the max, but I would imagine it's no more than 100C or so -- though it's probably best to keep it under 90C if you want it to last more than a few weeks. Is the card functioning normally under these temps? Open up your case (both sides if possible) and see what the temp shows... BTW, that card is very slow in terms of GPUGRID requirements. 16 stream processors will take days to finish any WU's. The current deadline is 4 days, which I think you will have trouble finishing even 1 under that constraint. |

I guess its a passive cooled one, right? You can attache some small fan to it, to blow the heat away... But better get a faster card that finishes the WUs within the deadline. Otherwise you might find that your WU gets reissued to other people (after the deadline of 4 days) and in case they return them back faster than you, you won't get credits for it... |

120 degrees? Celsius? Dude, give your gpu a rest before your computer catches on fire. Those passive cooling video cards were a great ideea for GForce 5500 or so, but the new ones just can't handle the heat generated. You could attach a fan on it, but i don't think it would work ok even with that; i did that a long time ago with my vodoo 3 card, didn't work as advertised. Better lay off the boinc gpu for now or get a new video card. |
