As per title..... but in this case, it is different I think. After the Boinc fixes last night, all my hosts have been able to get work except one: Host ID8882. I have tried everything I can think of on this host. Reset Project Detach/re-attach Under Linux, change host name and generate a new installation (hosts 19709 and 19982) Dual boot and switch to running XP on that box (19988) Upgrade to 6.4.5 on both Linux and XP32 Upgrade to 6.5.0 on XP Downgrade to 6.3.21 under Linux Clean installation each time, so no issues with client_state.xml. No other projects connected or running. Identical hardware on host ID 15596 running Vista32 is ok. Nothing seems to want to make it download work. I'm beginning to suspect hardware issues, but that would be very odd. So before I start ripping apart a decent cruncher, does anybody have any ideas? I think this is not the same as the problems the last few days, but I cannot think why after 141 WU's this box should suddenly stop getting work. |

Your card showed just a bit less than 256MB of ram which is the minimum required by the server. Just reduced that now. You should be able to receive WUs. gdf |

Ahh... thankyou GDF, yes it is downloading now! I'm wondering if my card has developed a fault, because it was ok before. Maybe a few bytes less than 256MB is enough to stop it. In any case I hope this card and my other 256MB card will be replaced soon with a GTX ;-) |

Assuming 1)there are no funnies in the client state 2)you haven't forgotten you've set GPU to NNW 3)Boinc recognises your card and a CUDA processor I'd try: 1)Suspending all other projects except GPU and manually updating GPU. 2)If that doesn't work, shut down boinc completely, check in task manager all boinc processes are gone and run BoincDV (search on the internet if you don't have it). Use this to zeroise ltd and std. Run up Boinc and with the other projects still suspended try updating GPU. Good luck! Phoneman1 |

I just saw that my 9800GTX+ reports 511 MB instead of 512 MB. Quickly checking Nightlords hosts shows me only one entry whith the correct size, all others have one MB less. Is some GPU memory reserved for something else (GPU bios, CPU bios shadow, desktop)? MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |
