One of GPUGRID's unique selling points was its “publication badges,” which allowed users to see which publications they had contributed to and to what extent. Unfortunately, after renewal of the GPUGRID website, klicking on these "publication badges" here in the discussion forum does no longer lead to the corresponding publication page - which was avaliable in the old website. Moreover, the badges overview is missing from the personal account page and the scientific project explanation pages also vanished. I would highly appreciate if these functions could quickly be restored. Michael. President of Rechenkraft.net - Germany's first and largest distributed computing organization. |

I agree with your post. The last published paper I'm aware of was from 2020. Has there been anything more recent? I ask because these little spurts of tasks every now and then seem more like throwing a minimum amount kindling on the fire to keep it from going cold. If any actual science has been done over the last several years I'd like to know. |

I agree with your post. The last published paper I'm aware of was from 2020. Well, you are right: the last badge-associated publication appears to be from 2020 - the question, however, is whether there truely was no GPUGRID-related publication in all these years after 2020 or whether the GPUGRID team simply did not continue to indicate GPUGRID-related papers in their nice badge system. Has there been anything more recent? Yes. See below. If any actual science has been done over the last several years I'd like to know. Let's just check on the GPUGRID group leader in Pubmed: 26 publications during 2021-2026 plus an additional set published in 2020 after the Herrera-Nieto et al JCIM 2020 paper last referenced as part of the GPUGRID badge awards. Already the first publication listed for 2021 mentions the GPUGRID volunteers in the acknowledgments and therefore should be cited as part of the GPUGRID bagde awards. Here is another one from 2023. So, in conclusion it appears to me that although our computational efforts were still the basis for GPUGRID publications the badge system simply wasn't continued / updated / repaired (after website re-construction). By the way: it is VERY NICE to find that all publications I checked were accessible to read for free online. That is something rarely found elsewhere. Thank you Gianni & colleagues. Finally, I truely wished the GPUGRID team would take the time and continue / repair / update this nice badge award system where contributors can see their contibutions translated directly into publically readable scientific results. These publication-related badge awards are something really unique in the BOINC universe. Michael. President of Rechenkraft.net - Germany's first and largest distributed computing organization. |

I agree with your post. The last published paper I'm aware of was from 2020. Oh, I had no idea. It would be really great if that were continued or expanded to cover the years 2021–2026. I actually think the expansion is necessary. It would be wonderful to be able to show your children or grandchildren what you’ve helped with. Ultimately, this is also good publicity for BOINC and distributed computing. Many thanks to Michael for pointing this out. |

...the publication badges are still non-functional (dead-URLs) as is the former science section in this forum. Michael. President of Rechenkraft.net - Germany's first and largest distributed computing organization. |
