This project has multiple applications (ACEMD, ATM, ATMML, Quantum chemistry ...). It would be great o have a short description for them as well as their requirements. I see that there are plenty of "Quantum chemistry" tasks, but it looks like I do not get any (on Windows 11, NVIDIA GPU), does anyone know what are the requirements? |

Like other BOINC projects, GPUGrid has an 'applications' page (at https://www.gpugrid.net/apps.php), but it isn't directly linked from anywhere I know. It does give information on which OS is available, but not a description. |

Yes,the apps page IS linked but hidden in an obscure place. https://www.gpugrid.net/join.php Down in the 'Configuring your participation' text block You can usually find a description of each sub-project application in the first post of the thread with the apps name. Either the scientist posted what the app does or some volunteer eventually asked what the app is doing and the scientist explained later. |

linux Thanks for the answer Like other BOINC projects, GPUGrid has an 'applications' page (at https://www.gpugrid.net/apps.php) Thanks for the reference, I will check this in the future Yes,the apps page IS linked but hidden in an obscure place. https://www.gpugrid.net/join.php In fact, while I found this page I didn't mind to click on all the links. I would expect to have this in the settings too. |

Like other BOINC projects, GPUGrid has an 'applications' page (at https://www.gpugrid.net/apps.php), but it isn't directly linked from anywhere I know. It would also be nice if the Admins would add how much memory is required for each App, that way people could easily see if it's worth trying to run more than one task at a time. It would be REALLY nice if every project did that as well!! |

There's too much variability in the work units and even among the sub-project types to give an estimate of how much memory each WU uses. Best solution is to simply look at how much memory a task uses while it is running with the nvidia-smi utility which is provided with the Nvidia drivers. That shows how much memory is in use and provides enough information to decide whether running multiples on the gpu is feasible and worthwhile. |
