from Covid19 I start to add some devices to Folding@home and then BOINC, where I add GPUGRID.

I’ m economist, so I don’t have deep knowledge about molecular biology, but from BOINC I can also support this field.

My question on this GPUGRID CAFE Forum, is to know if this sofware have potential to help on minority diseases. Unfortunately, this are the ones where is more hard get financial support because the number of affected people is relatively very low.

I think sofware like GPUGRID open an opportunity because of the potential to find new molecules at lower cost than current methods.

And specifically, my question is to know if this sofware have potential to contribute to NF, that is the disease where I’m more involved.

Seems my post become orphan

Similar what happen to many potential pharmaceutical agents can solve minority diseases, but because of there are not market enough, private companies do not develop because they don’t will generate any profit.
So, I think projects like BOINC or sofware like the one is supporting

- GUPGRID, can be new ways to change this situation.
- BOINC thanks to resources provided by volunteers,

Sofware that helps develop new molecules, because of the future cost reduction on developing.

I would like to listen some complementary or even disappointment about this vision.

Also if BONINC software also can contribute on illness like NF that is a genetic problem, and is the disease with I’m involved in.
