I had a long time watched, that my GTX280 since the application greater than 2.48 is slower than my GTX260². The average runtime was above 36,000 seconds. Now I have the BOINC manager told, don't use more than 99% of CPU time. As a result only 3 CPU tasks are running plus the GPU task. But the first WU after changing was only running 24229.265 s, that's over 11,000 seconds faster then without this setup.

Yes, that's how it works best on Windows. Keith and I had pointed that out a few weeks ago that the app runs faster if you run only 3 CPU tasks plus the GPUGRID task on a Quadcore...  pixelicious.at - my little photoblog |

Is it best to set the BOINC CPU usage at 99% or 75%(as I read elsewhere) or does it not matter? ... quad core... |

I haven't tested it, but I have set my Windows Quad to use 75% of the CPUs... On Linux it doesn't matter if you run 3 or 4 CPU tasks - the speed of the GPUGRID task is always the same. pixelicious.at - my little photoblog |
