Toni, Since these WUs run so much faster I think you need to increase your daily quota.
Rig-02 GPUGRID 18-02-2020 03:11 This computer has finished a daily quota of 31 tasks

Limit raised. Please check if it worked.

I finally got back into the forum. Seems to work good except for the rigs that got hit by the quota. Now they refuse to UL or DL even though they have pending transfers.

Was there any information posted about this latest project being run? If there was, would appreciate someone linking me to it.

I think this describes the current work:

Over 200K waiting to go out, that's what I call a full queue and lots of work left to do! :).

Thanks. Still pretty ambiguous though, was there any other info? But a little info is better than nothing.

Today is March 12. I've got a new system with a 2070 Super ready and waiting but looks as if the queue is empty. Is that true or did I set something up incorrectly?

Or, how does one specify getting jobs from MDADpr4 series?

I'm brand new to this BOINC project. Been doing LHC for quite a while but they seem to be having problems with their server. <sigh>

Thanks.

There is plenty of WUs and your card is supported. Just make sure you have a recent driver.

Edit: perhaps your PC is not attached to gpugrid. I don't see it.

BOINC client is not recognizing any NVIDIA graphics card at your Debian Linux system ID: 527296
Try entering Software - Drivers, choose latest NVIDIA proprietary driver, apply and reboot your system.
No tasks will be sent until any NVIDIA graphics card is shown at "GPU" column describing your system...

GPUGrid is one of my projects, with over 687k "work done." Don't know what else I need to do.

Assuming that your NVIDIA proprietary drivers are correctly installed at your new system:
I've had to add at several of my Linux hosts a certain delay to drivers be ready after system boot.
If boinc-client starts before drivers are ready, it will not see any available NVIDIA GPU, and then no tasks will be sent.

To automatize this delay:
Open a Terminal window and execute
sudo gedit /etc/rc.local

Then add the following lines before the "exit 0" one:
sleep 25
/etc/init.d/boinc-client restart

Reboot your system to check if this helps.
Your installed GPU should appear listed at "Coprocessors" section of your host ID# 527296
Currently it shows "---" (No coprocessor - GPU avaliable)

Message 53943 - Posted: 18 Mar 2020, 19:05:00 UTC

hello everyone, new tu GPUGRID/BOINC and found this thread that sounds relevant to me.

My client is running since March 15th (not continuously) and no tasks have been given to my system. from what I see my pretty old GeForce 9600GT is correctly configured and listed in the webpage. Rosetta is chunking CPU tasks without any problems.. any advice?

Best regards.

Ivan.

Your card is too old to be supported. Sorry.

I think that older graphic cards can only run SETI@Home. You can also try with Asteroids@Home, but I don't think it will work.

Ivan, there is work your card can probably handle if you run Milkyway@home or Asteroids@home. I have run them on a GT 710 2GB and a laptop with a NVM 4200 that only has 512MB.
(I can't get GPUGrid to run on anything with less than 2GBs of memory, myself.)

Your GPU will only be able to crank out 1 or 2 of tasks a day, even running Milkyway or Asteroids, and your GPU has to run opencl.

I just bought a GTX 1650 slot-powered card new for $135(US) on Ebay. It is almost 10 times as fast as a 9600 GT. Here is a comparison.
https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1650-vs-Nvidia-GeForce-9600-GT/4039vsm7677

Just sayin'...😀

SETI is shutting down at end of the Month.

Hello and thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I've tried every single project you suggested but out of all of them the only one that goes through the GPU is SETI@home (too bad they're stopping that soon!). grazie Alessio!

Yes Pop Piasa, I know this card is as old as time, but I'm not what you'd call a gamer (still, I sometimes play some very old games and that doesn't require much power). In fact I have this friend of mine that I had planned to meet some days ago, he promised to bring me a GTX960 he no longer needs but then lockdown here in Italy happened and then I lost my chance to meet him (and have the card).. Guess I'll have to wait!

Best regard to everyone!
Ivan.
