Currently I have a GTX 650 and 1050TI.
I would like to get a new GPU but not break my bank account doing so.
What would be a good upgrade from the 1050? Something like a 1660?
Then I would use the 1660 or whatever as primary and route all the other projects that use the 650 into the 1050.

Also a question on bridging, does that offer any advantages over running 2 separate GPU's and how does bridging work exactly? I am just starting to read up on it.

Looks like this is the only one within budget: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 OC 6G
This will cost me about 240 Euro.

You guys know of anything better for less cost?

May want to hold off till holidays or even just after to get a better price

What you call "bridging" is named SLI for Nvidia cards and Crossfire for AMD.

Not useful for distributed computing for any application or project AFAIK. Actually decreases performance. No science apps are written to use it AFAIK.

I am looking at something from the GTX 16xx series now.
1660 or 1650. Not sure which one from which manufacturer or which flavor is going to give me the best for my money.

Decision made. Based on budget I found this to be the best I can afford.
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1650 Windforce OC 4GB
It's about 180 Euro. The plain version ranks on prime grid as #11.
And stays about the same in all of their subprojects.
That's a really tough program for GPU's.
