Why is boinc not using my second (older) GPU? Why is it "ignored by config"? What do I need to adjust or change to use both? For boinc to use multiple GPUs, do they have to be identical? If boinc can use both, can I make separate options for the older v. the newer - separate task assigns, etc? I think ∴ I THINK I am My thinking neither is the source of my being NOR proves it to you God Is Love, Jesus proves it! ∴ we are |

Bonic will only use the newest/most powerful GPU so the older one is ignored. I don't think your 640 is able to be used for this project. Could be wrong but I think it's too old. For mixed matched GPUs, you need to use a cc_config.xml in the BOINC folder telling it to use all GPUs. I don't have that file with me, someone else can provide it to you. But I would check on that 640 because if it is too old, then there is really no point going forward with the cc_config.xml

The card is compatible with the new tasks, though may take more than 2 days to complete a task. You need to consider requirements as outlined in the recent FAQ found here (Pay particular attention to section on running multiple GPUs): http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=5002 To use all GPUs, add this line under <options> heading to your cc_config.xml: (found in ProgramData\BOINC folder) <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> All available BOINC client options for controlling GPUs found here: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration |
