for several weeks, most of the time no news tasks have been available; only once in a while. You need to be patient :-( |

for several days now: no new tasks (not even for Windows) :-( Currently, only 108 tasks are being processed; crunchers within the past 24 hours: 117 (figures from the server status page). What's happening back at GPUGRID? Not a single word from them here in the forum. Are they about closing down? |

Lots of chances for speculation. They just came off their summer vacation, so don't think they are too busy with education requirements. Project is running out of funding and is getting ready to shut down or go on hiatus until funds are secured again. Letting all the old acemd2 Windows tasks clear entirely from the servers and database and prepping for complete redesign of the project with the new acemd3 applications and new work. Hoping the last scenario is the correct one. |

I do agree that it would be nice to have some brief note in a forum or - even better - on the main homepage or a notice in the manager. However, I ask that we be a bit more patient. The faculty and graduate students are trying to do good research; that should be (and I hope, is) their primary goal. Keeping our GPUs busy is not why their research projects are funded. If you look at their publication record, they've been doing good work lately. While not impossible, I seriously doubt they're about to shut down.
