http://www.gpugrid.net/join.php seems to say that it supports Linux. Is this outdated? Plus, there were no such errors just a few weeks ago.

Linux is definitely supported, but there is currently an extended outage for Linux tasks as new software is developed for Turing architecture and the latest CUDA version.
Last Linux jobs ran out mid May.
Not sure how long the outage will last. We are all hopeful the updated Linux apps are available soon.
