how to start or work with gridcoin?

what I have done already:

- joined gridcoin team, from this website
- joined grcpool.com
- connected 2 host-machines to my grcpool-account
- per host-machine added gpugrid as project with resource share set to 100 (on website grcpool.com)
- in boinc added grcpool.com as account manager
- installed gridcoin wallet software on my windows-machines (v4.0.4.0) from gridcoin.us
- gridcoin wallet synced and blocks are up te date
- now I have 2 wallets, each on 1 windows-machine

now my question....what is my next step? what is needed to do??

I personally have one wallet and backup regularly onto multiple drives and USB sticks. It may take a few days initially to receive your first rewards but as long as the wallet doesn't say "unsynced" or something similar, that means you have successfully sent a beacon. As long as you have a beacon sent, you will eventually get a reward.

Yes, I think so. As long as you see your CPID, your magnitude should follow within a few days. Once you see your magnitude you should expect a payment somewhat soon.

Erik, If memory serves you have to unlock your GRC wallet and be sure the "Unlock for mining" box is unchecked. Then you need to send a beacon. Then lock and unlock for mining. I think your wallet will ultimately send a beacon but faster if you do it manually.

I haven't opened my GRC for a while so my beacon is old. After you get the first sent it's automatic.

I think you need some small number of GRC in your wallet to begin. A faucet, an exchange or someone can send you some.

It means, 'if I can remember correctly.'
Yes, Unlock for Staking. You have to uncheck that if you want to "advertisebeacon" manually. I did it 2 years ago but you probably don't need to now.
Do you see your CPID on the wallet overview??? If so, then you should be good. After that it takes a while (a few days) for Magnitude to rise above zero. When you get some Magnitude from crunching you start earning GRC. It used to be you needed a certain amount of GRC to Stake. Not sure now. After you advertise your beacon this will clear. I just upgraded to 4.0.4.0 and my Find Primary CPID fails even though I checked my gridcoinresearch.conf has it right. Might be a bug.

i added manually to gridcoinresearch.conf this line
cpid=<my cpid number>.
and yes, i can see my cpid-number on my wallet overview.

but still FAIL error under DIAGNOSE
