We have uploaded a new website design.
We think that it is much better than the old one, but it will require few days to fix problems.

Comment in this thread.

Thanks.

(By the way it was designed by Ignasi, so thank him)

Congrats on the new website design. It looks really straightened up.

Would it be possible to add a button to change the width, or change it automatically to fit the users screen? At 1680x1050 only approx. 2/4 of the screen are used...

Oh, I like this too.

I've been waiting for it to pop up, trying to keep the secret. I got a preview on the alpha test site.

I like the new menu style across all the pages.

The separate how to setup pages with instructions and tutorials is good feature to, nice job on that.

Problem in forums.

Some posts have no 'reply' or 'quote' buttons. other psots have one half cut off. It seems they are on short, one two line lessages, but get cut off on longer messages.

Very few posts have ' edit', 'hide', 'move' above them. Edit your own or moderator buttons.

Saw it in this thread, I could not reply or quote your orignal post.

Now once I have selected 'post to thread', form top og thread list, all this thread that shows up below this text box, has all the buttons, both above and below each post.

Weird, I can see all buttons like before...
Which screen resolution do you use?

Have you tried to clear your browser cache?

Same resoultion as before. 1280 x 1024.

What would clearing the broswer cache have to do with new posts, they would not be in the cache yet, so how woudl that effect buttons missing or partially missing from them.

It is not all psots, some have buttons, but only if they have a few lines of text. It is like the height of each messge box is limited to a miniume, unless the post has lots of lines of text, but then still long psots do not have buttons.

like I said when I go to replay, all the posts that show up below the reply box, now have all the buttons.

Well with 1680x1050 I can see all buttons on all posts, and they also work like before...

Nothing with the new posts, but maybe with the missing or cut-off buttons if the pics of the buttons are still in the cache and maybe interfere with the new ones...

You are more than right Kaptain!
Are you using IE7? I can see this on IE7. It is a problem because we have very little access to windows machines in the lab! And it's not good for testing.

We strongly recommend the use of any other browser for a better experience with the web: Firefox, Opera, Safari,...

I will try to solve this. The problem is that we can just modify the CSS of the pages for all these forum ones, and the html itself is created with already some style embedded... and it's a nightmare. But I am working on it.

Thanks for the feedback!

I did view source and then saved locally. Slowly I deleted classes until I got the buttons back by deleteing all the

class="postheader" (Restores edit and hide above all posts)

and

class="postfooter" (Restores reply and quote below all posts)

Stylesheet problem. I havn't look at that yet. to see what these do.

Did I mention I use IE7 and not Firefox. Need I say more....

The buttons are not pics anymore, they are just text with a background set by a style to look like a button.

There you go. A matter of height.

By the way, better the buttons now in a row and not as a list?

Oh, I got buttons !!!!

They look better to in a single row, side by side, not stacked as before, takes up less space.

Many thanks.

---

I found the problem too, same thing as you mention, I deleted the height from both defs in stylesheet and had all the buttons.

We can still have some troubles with the "user of the day" box in the Home page... We'll see how it goes.

Thank you all!

I admit the new look is much more readable.. but still, I don't feel comfortable with it. It lacks the unique look which the old one had. Now it almost looks like any other forum.

Any plans for another colour style which leans more to the old black / green theme? Could be switched in the user profile.

The new forum design in combination with the GPUGrid-made header is nice, but I would prefer the old black background and appropriate coloured fonts.
Isn't it possible to manually change that back?
