I typically run a separate BOINC client on computers that have a GPU as it's easier to manage queues and projects that have CPU and GPU work. Plus projects that have the same app name for both GPUs and CPUs (I'm looking at you E@H) the ETA's stay accurate.

Well I wanted to run GPU work and the CPU work here at GPUGrid on separate clients. I add GPUGrid on my CPU only client, check 'Computers on this account' but it never shows up.

I create a new location, move the computer I do see to the new location and both clients get the Home location. I can see this by what type of work it requests and the resource share.

Why don't clients with the same name show up multiple times? This works just fine for other projects.

Edit: On another note, I turned on my VPN to a Swiss location and browsing is much better now. Every other click was timing out and I had to refresh constantly when I was not using a VPN.

Edit2: I check the client with the GPU tasks and they are all gone. They should have had hours left. Site says they were 'Abandoned' but sure did not abort them. I notice by resource share is wrong and see my Home location disappeared and went to the default location. Which was CPU only and caused by tasks to be dumped. That whole site page is screwed up with ps3grid database errors on it.

It sometimes happens that the BOINC server is too "smart" and automatically merges an additional client instance into an existing one.
The server can be forced to generate a new computer ID if you change a major attribute of your new instance before you attach it to a project.

I suggest to change <ncpus>n</ncpus> to a different "n" in cc_config.xml.
In addition you may set <rpc_seqno>x</rpc_seqno> for the project to "x+20" or "x+30" in client_state.xml.

After your client received a new computer ID and you checked it on the project's webpage you may set "n" to whatever you want.

Would you possibly unhide your computers so that the admins or other helpful crunchers can see the settings? Thanks.

I never understood why people hide their computers, people can learn from others' setups.

What does my own computer have to to with the server deleting the location? No one else can even see the location I have set for each host anyway.
