I´m running PS3 Grid (and QMC) tasks on my Quad Core.
1 tasks PS3 and 4 tasks QMC.
Sometimes the active task stopped. The other tasks (e.g. of QMC) are still running.
In that case it is necessary to stop the download of new tasks and to stop all oher tasks. Then the PS3 task starts again automatically.
So I´m loosing time (and points). Is there a way to solve this problem?

Try to set on boinc preferences :

On multiprocessors, use at most : 3 CPU

So the one core free will be totally free for Gpu grid and then will run faster :)

I tried this solution (in similar situation) for Enigma Project (at project site - not at client) and it doesn`t work. I`ll try with other projects later.

It will work if you set it to 3 in the cc_config.xml file but thats all you might be running at times too. I set it like that on GPU Capable 5 Box's before I went to bed last night & when I got up this morning 2 of them were only running 3 Wu's.

Basically from what I see is we are at the mercy of the Client no matter what we set it to. I can set it to 5 and 5 Wu's will run but not necessarily a CUDA Wu, the same holds for setting it to 4 or 3.

I went back thru my GPU Box's & set them to 4 so at because thats all I want running @ 1 time is 4 Wu's with 1 being a GPU CUDA Wu. So now on 2 Box's at least I have 5 Wu's running again, theres no winning really from what I can see.

I confirm. Have the same issue. Sometimes 5 task are runing 4 Rosetta and 1 Ps3Grid and sometimes 4 rosetta and no ps3grid....

Another problem I see or I have anyway is keeping a level Wu Cache from other Projects while running the Grid Wu's. It seems I either have very little work from the other projects or get flooded by them.

If I set my Cache to 0.1 my Caches run right down to nothing, sometimes only 3 Wu's are running. If I set it to 0.5 then when a Grid Wu finishes and reports if I don't get another Wu right away some of the other projects send a bunch of work to take it's place ... Weird

Everything you are discussing here belongs into the thread for the 6.3.17 BOINC client, which is causing these problems.

I have 6.3.10 and have this. After restart, 4 rosetta are runing and ps3grid is suspended....

OK, by that statement I implied people would already have upgraded to the current BOINC version. Of course there are other or similar bugs in older clients as well.

6.3.19 was just released and GDF says "please use", so I suspect they ironed out some major bug(s) :)
