Sony has been a bad actor as long as I can remember. They sold the PS3 to many as a dual purpose game console / Linux machine. Universities set up PS3 labs for Linux use. Then Sony unceremoniously pulled the rug out with a firmware update that disabled the Linux functionality. Bad people, bad management. Maybe they'll get hacked again.
