Anyone know why every 6.47 app on linux now gives me a compute error. http://www.gpugrid.net/results.php?hostid=10133 I am running 6.3.10 Boinc and 177.67 drivers. Nothing has change on PC recently but everything now fails. Any suggestions? |

You are failing also with 6.44. So, there must be a configuration error. gdf |

Any ideas what the configuration error could be? I have tried everything, even a full reinstall but still the same. Latest install here: http://www.gpugrid.net/results.php?hostid=14873 All with exactly the same result. I have installed the same way as always and nothing else has changed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

Can you tell us a little bit more about your computer. It looks like you have Ubuntu installed? Which driver do you use, and how have you installed it? Do you have a chance to test another graphics card in that PC? pixelicious.at - my little photoblog |

It's Ubuntu 8.04 with a PNY 256Mb 8800gt. Using the 177.73 driver installed by running the script "NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-177.73-pkg2.run". Running Boinc 6.3.14. I have an XFX 8800gt running on 64bit Vista in another manchine so I am just about to swap the cards about and see the results. |

Ok, swapped the cards and the errors moved with the card. So now I have the PNY card not working in windows. Factory default cpu and mem are 600 and 700 MHZ. Tried setting them to 500 and and it seemed to take longer to fail. Card worked fine for about a month and only started having problems in the last few days. Might need to look at replacing it. It is only a 256Mb card, has that got anything to do with the issue? |

Card worked fine for about a month and only started having problems in the last few days. Might need to look at replacing it. It seems that way. Could you run 3D Mark 2005 or 2006 for a couple of hours, if the card is in the windows PC? If that fails the card is probably broken, if it doesn't fail.. well, that won't tell us much. There's also an artifact tester included in ATI tool or ATI try tool, can't remember which one. It runs some fur-stuff and scans for calculation errors and might be a better test than 3D Mark. It is only a 256Mb card, has that got anything to do with the issue? I don't think so. MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

Card looks cooked. PC kept crashing after a few mins of running 3DMark. Thanks for those who helped. |

Ouch... Well, at least you know now there's something wrong with the card and not with your setup... ;) pixelicious.at - my little photoblog |

A final comment: could you take a look at the temperature of the card? GPU-Z is a small utility which does the job and doesn't need to be installed. If it's above 90 - 100°C the fan or it's regulation may be defective, which in turn may have killed the card. If it's anything at or below 70°C the card ran perfectly within specifications.
