Noone can use the GPU to 100%. Depending on your current setup there are a few things you could do, tough. Not sure what you're currently already doing. Reserved a CPU core? MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

1. As your CPU is hyper-threaded, it has only 4 cores, so you should reduce the number of CPU tasks running (set the BOINC manager to use at most 50% of the CPU cores). 2. You should set up the GPUGrid app to use a full CPU core to feed your GPU: Set the swan_sync environmental variable to make the GPUGrid client use a full CPU core. Start button -> type systempropertiesadvanced to the search box -> press enter, or click on the result -> click on the "environmental variables" button near the bottom -> click on the "new" button near the bottom (system variables section) -> variable name: swan_sync -> variable value: 1 -> click OK 3 times -> exit BOINC manager with stopping all scientific applications -> restart BOINC manager If it's not satisfactory, furthermore you can try to run 2 GPUGrid tasks at the same time. You can find the instructions for how to do it here. |

I tried this and rosetta still gets 4 cpus and the gpu starved EDIT update for both machines - boinc manager CPU usage 95 % will get 'er done 3 rossettas and a gpu core , task manager says about 9 % but the perf graph says [ looks like ] about 1/2 . as soon as I did it it ask for more work . just the swan mod did not open up a core by itself , thank you for your help |
