Antivirus false positive - tcl84.dll quarantined by Avast

Symptom (apart from the Avast pop-ups) is "exit code -1073741790 (0xc0000022)" The same machine ran identical tasks downloaded yesterday, so I think this was caused by a faulty antivirus update overnight. Have checked the Avasti virus chest and see two elements from two failed downloads. Does anyone know how to deactivate BOINC/GPU files or do I have to uninstall Avasti completely? Most people end up excluding the whole Boinc directory as any true virus will try and infect other parts of your pc and then be caught, while false positives will be ignored. Temporarily disabling the Web Shield allowed the download to complete. The paths C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\...\* and C:\ProgramData\BOINC\slots\* were already in the Avast file system exclusions. I went ahead and added C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\www.gpugrid.net\tcl84.dll. We will see if that helps until Avast corrects the issue. I also reported the tcl84.dll file as a false positive.
