HI everyone, i have a gibabyte gtx 660 that the core clock is to high and make my task get error, i can lower the clock with Guru II, but i want to flash the bios to underclock a little, the card currently run at 1150mhz, and it strange because i have the same card running at 1097mhz and going strong. I tried to save the bios .rom with gpu-z but nvflash crash everytime, i tried to go to CMD as administrator, and flash it with another .rom file but nothing happen... Did theses cards locked? |

You don't need to flash the Bios to force the GPU to run at a reduced clock speed. All you have to do is use a program such as MSI Afterburner and reduce the Core Clock &/or Power Limit. From within the app you can configure the settings to apply on startup. FAQ's HOW TO: - Opt out of Beta Tests - Ask for Help |

Definitely use software first to downlcock the card, as SK said. If thereby you can make the card stable think again about flashing those settings. MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

Thank for the reply, finally, i will RMA the card, it seem to be a commun issue with some of these cards. BTW, the cards clock dropped to 549 Mhz today... but still running the task. Weird stuff. |

That is not so weird. It is down clocked but still running. It will take a lot longer though, but it will finish. The only option to get the clock at operating speed again is to reboot the PC. Set BOINC to suspend when doing the reboot, and no WU will be lost. Greetings from TJ |

You should be able to use NVIDIA Inspector to 'Apply Clocks and Voltages'. FAQ's HOW TO: - Opt out of Beta Tests - Ask for Help |

Such a low clock speed is usually a sign that a driver reset needed to be performed and the card is kept in a fail-safe mode afterwards. MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |
