Any kind of use for gpugrid? I read about a asic for moleculardynamics named Anton2 that uses around 190watt of power. Didnt read more about it, saw it in a magazine named Ct here that this one exists. Is that a blade card only witch would be unusable without a Rack? Dont find that much infos about it so i think its only a supercomputer for a very special usage.

Anton is a supercomputer designed and produced by D. E. Shaw's group
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anton_%28computer%29
It allows them to perform the currently longest MD simulations (but very few of them, typically 2-3). They are kind of the opposite of our approach which is high-throughput short simulations.

We would love to have an Anton but these things are not really for buying :) You can get computation time on some of them I think through some selection procedure and afaik they have donated one to a University.

TL;DR Awesome machine but out of our reach

Ok i see, seems i was too entusiastic hoping it is something smaller cheaper :D thought the single parts are named anton 2 and are build up by many in some racks and not that the full thing is called so. ^^ thx for the info
