At present I have two GTX650 Ti GPUs running on my AMD FX-8350 with MOBO ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX/GEN3 R2.0. I am considering the addition of an ASUS GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB GPU to the mix. Rather than attempting to sell the 650s, I will run them to the end. My question: Will my ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX/GEN3 R2.0 support the three GPUs running together? I have a 750W PSU. Thanks! John |

The CPU is fine - 8 cores. The Motherboard is fine - 4 PCIE slots. The Motherboard, CPU, RAM and any disk drives are likely to use <250W. A GTX650Ti has a TDP of 110W, so two will use <220W. The power requirements of a reference GTX750Ti are low; the TDP is 60W. While some GTX750Ti's report that they can use up to 125W, they probably won't use anything like that even when overclocked. So it depends on the PSU in question. Can it support a power draw of ~550W? Given the rest of your system build, I expect you have a decent PSU and not a firecracker. Hello John, I have an AMD CPU and Asus MOBO with a 750Watt gold EVGA PSU. It is running a GTX770 and a FOC GTX780Ti without any problems. The whole system is currently drawing 581Wattt. So what you want will certainly work if you have a decent PSU. Greetings from TJ |

Thank you, TJ; I will proceed as soon as I have finished enhancing my FX-6300 system. Hello John, |

I use a "Kill A Watt" device to measure my wattage at the wall. I have: - Chassis: 5-year-old Dell XPS 730x (with water cooling for CPU) - Power supply: 1000-watt (original, came with system) - CPU: Intel Core i7 965 XE, factory overclocked to 3.74Mhz - GPU 1: eVGA GTX 660 Ti 3GB FTW, factory overclocked to 1041 Mhz (1241 Mhz Boost) - GPU 2: eVGA GTX 460 1GB OC, factory overclocked to 763 Mhz - GPU 3: nVidia OEM GTS 240, 675 Mhz - RAM: 12GB DDR3 I run the system 24/7, balls out, doing 3 GPU tasks, 6 CPU tasks, and 1 non-CPU-intensive task. It uses 750 Watts, which costs roughly $22/month in electricity here in Rochester NY. In preparation for the R343 drivers (which will kill support for pre-Fermi GPUs, and make Windows no-longer install drivers for the GTS 240), on Monday I am installing a 2nd GTX 660 Ti to replace the GTS 240. It will probably push the power supply harder than ever before, but I'm hoping things will work out, since I'm not too close to 1000 watts yet. You might try getting a "Kill A Watt" device - they are handy. http://www.p3international.com/products/p4400.html Regards, Jacob |

Note: I've been informed that my electricity cost calculation might not be correct. It probably is wrong. But, I am positive that I'm using 750 watts at the wall :) |
