I got this Asus Titan Black since last week and most of my WU crunched with GPUGRID report with an error after they are done. So they get unstable at 100% done. No problems with other projects using the gpu. below is the link to my results: [link to my result page gpu is not overclocked. driver 335.23 Also on the computer info page on the different boinc projects it shows the card has only 4Gb of ram instead of the actual 6Gb.

Windows has a problem with 4. Four GPU's in a system is the max and more then 4GB RAM on a GPU cannot be addressed "normally". One or two games can use more but they are specially written. I would try a slightly older driver and see if that works. The latest drivers slow down the GTX780Ti, so perhaps they are not so good for the Titan Black. I'm using 331.82 on my 780Ti and runs nicely. Greetings from TJ |

@TJ Thanks, I went back to 332.21 (highest driver I could d/l on the Asus ROG driver-site for the Titan Black). Let's hope it works fine now.

Looks like your card is overheating. It shouldn't be going over 80C. |

@MJH: Weird it's overheating at ±80°C because the (auto)fan was/is only at 50% and gpu 75%load ... but then again I already was planning to watercool this Titan (xspc with backplate) so temps will drop with 50%. For the meanwhile I raised the stock gpu-fan with 10% and more/higher aggressive raise above 75°.

So I just installed the Xspc waterblock with backplate to my Asus Titan Black and temps are down. It's passive watercooled since I've the Zalman Reserator 1 so it are not the lowest temps you will see with this block. but coming from 75-80° with stock fan at 65% now at 42° with NO noise at all. Most WU crunched successfully after I raised the stock blower about 10% and it was rotating most of the time during gpugrid at 65%. at 70% the very nice fan produced a raised noise. I got the double-precision already on but I'm curious if the few boinc aps that use it really have any benefit if it's on ... mem clock is dropped to 6000Mhz instead of the stock 7000Mhz when in double-precision so ????

Double-precision is used at MilkyWay. Don't know of any other GPU projects which use it. Here it should be faster with double-precision turned off. FAQ's HOW TO: - Opt out of Beta Tests - Ask for Help |

And off it is than (doing milkyway anyway but those are short WU, or do I receive other WU then? but that's more a their forum question i bet). update ... temps of the gpu went up to 58° at the moment ... but watertemp is raising also, keep in mind I'm passive watercooled. Think I'll drop the cpu overclock by 0.2Ghz for now.

MW without DP isn't worth doing, and GPUGrid with DP enabled is significantly slower. 58°C is fine, so long as it stays below 70°C there will be no worries. If temps rise above 70°C, then it's time to reduce the power target. Good luck, FAQ's HOW TO: - Opt out of Beta Tests - Ask for Help |
