I am running up a new machine, slowly adding gear to it, yesterday I installed a second GTX670, all temps etc seem good. Base OS is Windoze 7 :). Just checking this error out incase it is due to something in my config, I have not started tweaking the as installed environment (no over clocking, no changes to BOINC xml files etc). If there is anything obvious I should be setting up to stop the following error (or is it really the server aborted it and I blew 12hrs of crunching?).

Task Id's are: 6965733 and 6965051

They both aborted at the same time yet the web task details says "Exit status 202 (0xca) EXIT_ABORTED_BY_PROJECT "

6965051 appeared to be almost completed after 9H56M, the other one was probably about one third done.

"aborted by project" is not something you can influence. It should rarely be used (noone likes loosing credits, even if the result is of no value any more), and in fact is most often used by accident.
