I found a couple of each and i got 262 for the 660ti and 368 for the 670. Its such a huge difference im unsure if its acurate. It does about reflect the price tho. whatcha think?

At GPUGrid the performance of both cards is about the same. Due to the higher cost of the GTX670 the GTX660Ti is the better card to get to crunch here.

If you put different cards into different setups you are likely to see some difference in work throughput. Running different task types could influence things even more. You should be able to get over 300K/day on a GTX660Ti.

one last question to make my shopping exsperience complete. the 650 and 660 have about the same price difference. How much of a performance difference in those two ti or not. I wouldnt want to go any lower than a 650, but the way I figure theres gonna be a noticeable difference especially in sli.

SLI with 2 smaller cards is not worth it, as scaling is sometimes too bad and you always get some micro stuttering. For gaming you're always better off with the largest single GPU you can and want to afford.

For crunching "SLI / not SLI" generally doesn't matter, except for GPU-Grid: here you'Re also better off with one faster card since this will be able to get the bonus credits for a quick return longer. And will have a better resale value.

Between GTX650 and GTX660Ti there's a significant difference in performance for every step. I really dislike nVidias naming for these cards. PErformance in GPU-Grid is proprotional to the value in the column "GFLOPS (FMA)" over there.

Well I use the term sli as meaning two cards in one machine not connected by a cable. Will you get micro stuttering if they arent cable connected? not what i had bought this motherboard for. seems like a waste of energy.

there seems to be almost double the gflops in a 660ti from 650. So what should I go with?

yea in my denial I reread and got it, and I was looking at newegg and reading up on micro stuttering. I guess this is a loss cause. I have one last pertinent question that was most likely answered on this forum years ago. I beleive you can run different cards in a system as long as they arent sli and you have windows 7, correct, now that I think about it the driver compatibility of windows 7 that makes this possible. So say I do what was recommended by my furry friend and buy a 480 and im maxed, and cant really duplicate it any time soon. So I add a different card, not that it matters but a 660 or 670 depending on my situation at the time. Am I gonna have to physically do anything to one of these cards, as in remove it, to play a dang game. My final goal in life is to play world of warcraft again, and right now I have a 210 that wont go past good settings with no anti aliasing, ect. In the end if I can still game on my 480 without removing 460 or have it affecting anything.

No need to remove cards for gaming. I'm not totally sure what decides which card is used when a game is started, but any hald-decent card can handle WoW just fine.

And by "480" I hope you mean "680"? Anyway.. I of course still stand by the argument "bigger single GPU is better", but this doesn't mean that "bang for the buck" wouldn't be important. Let's say you could get 2 units if GPU power in one large card or 1 unit in smaller cards. If these smaller cards cost anywhere near half as much as the bigger one, go with the bigger one. However, if the big GPU costs more than a factor of 3 more, that's not such a good deal any more. Obviously there'll be a personal threshold here. I went with a GTX660Ti last summer due to the exceptional band for the buck and haven't regretted it one minute.
