What additional features do you think it offers, other than 3D sound under Linux? Would it have any drawbacks, such as dropping to PCI Express 2.0? Anyway, I'm definitely against taking a soldering iron to a GTX690. You could destroy the card, invalidate any guarantee or even burn your fingers!
