We are having some problems with the server disks.
The server may go down soon trying to recover from the problem.

In this message Toni says you guys are working around the clock to keep the pipes clear. I'm not an IT pro but from what I have read the problem with RAID is the disks wear themselves out resyncing data. If your hardware is getting old and you believe the data load is only going to increase (GPUgrid IS a popular project) then you might consider switching to Amazon web services or something similar before spending money on upgrades/replacements to your own gear. I read somewhere that David Anderson did an analysis on this and recommends Amazon highly for BOINC projects. theSkyNet POGS project uses Amazon and probably can give you an assessment. I don't think you can afford to NOT use Amazon or similar.

Can you give us an idea of how many drives and what sort they are? Sounds like you might need a replacement program of some sort where the older ones get replaced with new ones.

One of the problems with a server is the drives being mechanical tend to wear out. You are lucky to get 3 years out of them these days.
