I am receiving beta work units even though I have beta deselected in user preferences. I disabled beta tasks about a week ago when I installed a second GPU. I wanted to get it stabilized before introducing the possibility of reliability variability of beta work units.

It is not a huge issue to be receiving them, happy to contribute to the beta process, but it is curious that the disallow beta setting is not working (at least on my account).

I think you need to have both "ACEMD Beta" in the applications section and the general "Run Test Applications" set to No.

I'd never paid attention to that item.

Hmmm... My preferences are set as follows:

Run only the selected applications

ACEMD standard: no
ACEMD beta: no
ACEMD for long runs (8-12 hours on fastest GPU): yes

Run test applications? yes

If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? yes

However, I'm getting tasks only from the beta queue. I changed my prefs only recently, but I've manually updated a few times and it's gone through a couple of work fetch cycles. Unsent long queue tasks show 98, atm.

Yeah, I'm getting this issue to. I deselected them, but more beta tasks were still downloaded.

I don't know what to say, because I never fixed the error. I just thought that because of the added beta tasks I should help and run them, too.

The only problems I get with beta tasks are driver crashes every now and then with when I suspend the tasks, and when I restart my computer the current task resets to 0% completion.

I'm using a GTX 670 with the 301.42 driver, by the way.

I've gone back to fetching tasks only from the long queue keeping my fingers crossed that the work doesn't run out while I'm not looking... :D I don't mind running beta tasks (or those in the short queue), but I don't want to run them exclusively... :-)
