I am wondering if there are any issue's with the upload servers. My upload speed has slowed to a crawl and I keep getting dropped connections too, I can upload my finished climate prediction WU's at full speed, it's just GPUGRID I'm having problems with. I have to suspend some of the GPUGRID WU's to keep my upload queue from being overwhelmed. |

+1 currently running at just over 30 Kbps ... it will take just under 1 hour to upload the 92.80 MB result file for a large NATHAN. Thanks - Steve |

Perhaps there is a long queue of backed-off uploads created by yesterday's network downtime. |

This has been happening since around the time that CUDA 4.2 was released for the long queue tasks. Don't know if this is the correct reason, but I've come to believe that the slow upload speed is correlated with both the higher rate of return of WUs to their servers + the increase in amount of people that have joined. I have been watching their stats for amount of GigaFLOPS, and the amount of current users which has increased recently. I think that these two things together have either "overloaded" their servers and/or bandwidth. Just my .02 |

Same here! Continues up-load problems since CUDA 4.2 was introduced and I up-graded my GPUs. As I have posted in several other forums, my two GPU get frequently starved, because the finished work does not get up-loaded in time. Hope this gets solved in the near future. |

After the network outage my up and download speed was lower than usual, but now it seems to be normal (that is around 150KBps upload) |

I guess I'm one of the party crashers, I've only been here for a couple of months. My speed is back to normal, I wasnt aware there was a network outage on the GPUGRID, but it's working great now. |

This problem appears to be back--5.4KBps upload speed. Five hours to U/L one result file is a bit much. I stopped & restarted upload several times to make sure it wasn't just one sour connection (nope).

My upload speed does not go over 50 KBps (my MAX upload is about 120 KBps). I just realized it takes about 30 min to upload a large WU. |

I've just uploaded a 92MB Long task at >330KB/s. It took <5min. Your problems are locational/routing issues. There is limited bandwidth available under the Atlantic, so QoS (or similar) is probably being imposed. There is not much you can do if your transfer route is bad. The only things are, clear your routers logs/cache (manually or just turn it off for a minute and then turn it on) and from a command line do ipconfig -release, ipconfig -flushnds, and ipconfig -renew. I've just uploaded a 92MB Long task at >330KB/s. It took <5min. Maybe you could partner with a place in Europe to upload there and then they could upload the data to you. Make the uploads to you automatic at a cheap and fairly data free time, or when only x amount of drive space is free. There could OF COURSE be a delay in granting credits, but over time that will even out and it should make the uploads faster. Remember in the VERY old days Seti used to do that kind of stuff to make it faster, they have long since stopped it though, I think. I saw where you have several scientists, developers, students, etc who all came from Europe, so asking could work. After all the old adage 'you will never get a yes answer if you never ask' is still true! I am just trying to think outside the box a little, I am in the US and have Verizon FIOS so my uploads are FAST!! |

I would suggest people with slow uploads to indicate which provider they are using. My uneducated guess is that there are filters in place. Why would consumers need to upload files, after all? :) T |
