I finally got my card and managed to produce the first 3 (out of 3) WU-errors right away. Any suggestions what I should try to make it work? I'm running - Win XP 32 SP2 (German) - BOINC 6.3.9. - driver 177.79 because 177.35 refuses to install on the GTX+ (new 55 nm chip) - application 6.30 The stderr out is: <core_client_version>6.3.9</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Unzulssige Funktion. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1) </message> <stderr_txt> # Device 0: "GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+"; Clock rate: 1836000 kilohertz MDIO ERROR: cannot open file "restart.coor" </stderr_txt> ]]> ("unzulässige Funktion" means something like invalid function) The WUs are failing for my wingmen, but with different error messages, e.g. <core_client_version>6.3.8</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Impossibile trovare il percorso specificato. (0x3) - exit code 3 (0x3) </message> <stderr_txt> # Device 0: "GeForce 8800 GTS"; Clock rate: 1188000 kilohertz MDIO ERROR: cannot open file "restart.coor" Cuda error: Kernel [kick_drift_kernel] failed in file 'step.cu' in line 48 : the launch timed out and was terminated. Assertion failed: 0, file step.cu, line 48 This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. </stderr_txt> ]]> ... and: <core_client_version>6.3.8</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> w肳ꂽpX܂B (0x3) - exit code 3 (0x3) </message> <stderr_txt> Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1219176131.000000 Skipping: /computation_deadline MDIO ERROR: cannot open file "restart.coor" Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1219176131.000000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Cuda error: Kernel [frc_sum_kernel_dihed] failed in file 'force.cu' in line 508 : unspecified launch failure. Assertion failed: 0, file force.cu, line 508 This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. </stderr_txt> ]]> In all but the last case the error happened quickly. but this guy managed to crunch for 27,000 s. The WUs are: http://www.gpugrid.net/workunit.php?wuid=36501 http://www.gpugrid.net/workunit.php?wuid=36367 http://www.gpugrid.net/workunit.php?wuid=35450 Hope this helps in any way, MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

Update: I installed the inf-modified Version of the 177.35 driver. It recognizes my GTX+ as GTX, but no problems with that so far (it's a pure die shrink after all). The first WU, still on client 6.30, got past the first 10 minutes, whereas previously it would fail before the first min. MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

Next update: 1st WU finished successfully, 2nd seems to run fine (all app 6.30 & 177.35)! MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |
