Hi !
I could not find a thread about this question and I would like to have a precise answer to what is actually possible .

I assume here that GPUGRID apps will be OK for both fermi and kepler.

May a fermi GPU and a kepler GPU coexist under Windows for GPUGRID using 301.42
driver ?

May a fermi GPU and a kepler GPU coexist under Linux for GPUGRID using 295.49 driver ?

In other words is BOINC capable of distinguish between both type of GPU on the same mobo ?

BOINC doesn't treat them differently. It does allow for multiple GPU's just that it treats all the Nvidias the same and all the ATI's the same. But then all BOINC does is schedule the work it doesn't do any actual crunching.

If you have a Fermi and Keplar based cards I would expect you'd get the cuda42 app (being beta tested at the moment). It should work on both cards.

Actually BOINC knows about the CUDA compute capability, so it can distingiush between different nVidia GPU architectures. Since there is no Kepler app released yet we can't say if this will work, though.

My understanding is that the app sent will depend on your driver, which Boinc reports, so if you have 285 you're stuck with the current app or possibly a cuda4.0 app in the near future, while if you use the 301.42 driver you will get the app complied for cuda4.2 when released.
As the cuda4.2 app is faster for Fermi cards you would want to use that anyway.

Whether or not you can crunch with both Fermi and Kepler on the same system would be both Boinc version and driver version dependent.

Win 7 64bit /Win XP 32bit NV driver 301.42 driver (and Nvidia Inspector 1965) can detect both Kelper and Fermi cards on the same MB.

But, Boinc Mgr. v7.0.25 and v7.0.27 can only detect the Kelper cards in these cases.

GPUgrid is still sending ACEMD beta version 6.45 (cuda4.0) application to my GTX670 and computation errors with the said driver.

It might work, but we've seen problems in the past with mixed Fermi/Tesla systems. At the very least, you'll have to update to the latest driver to get the Cuda 4.2 appl.
Give it a whirl and let us know how it goes.

He is using 301.42, which is CUDA4.2 capable and the driver recognises both cards.
'Updating' might actually be the issue, or it could be with Boinc.
The recommendation is to do a clean installation, to get rid of previous driver installations, the remnants of which might still be hanging around and recognised by Boinc. Don't know if that was performed or not. If it was I would reinstall Boinc, and failing that try 7.0.28.
