Looks like a lot of people that don't know what they're doing. Using 296 drivers and not telling monitor to never go sleep on windows. Wish they would just stop sending long runs to people who don't know what they're doing or something.

1. GeForce 9800 GT Non recommended card - Failures to be expected
2. GTX 260 (896MB) driver: 296.10 Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Known Bad Driver
3. GTX 470 (1280MB) driver: 296.10 Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Known Bad Driver
4. GeForce 8600 GTS Non recommended card - Failures to be expected
5. GTX 550 Ti (1024MB) driver: 295.73 Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Known Bad Driver
6. GTX 570 (1280MB) driver: 296.10 Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Known Bad Driver

So 2 or 3 old (not recommended) cards and 4 bad drivers. Unfortunately this is becoming all too common. There is probably nothing wrong with the work unit.

So, not so funny en mass.

If you are using old cards that mostly fail task, detach/remove this project. Try another project or get a better card.
If you use 295/296 drivers and you fail tasks, upgrade to 301.x or implement the workaround.

Can we added a recommended driver version to the FAQ or a warning that 296 drivers are not compatible with the project? I was bitten by the same problem with years of experience on GPU grid.

For now 266 to 285 drivers are good. We need at least 295 drivers for the latest Beta app, though more recent drivers (3.x) are preferable.

Regarding 295/296 drivers, there is a note in the most recent post of this FAQ thread (with over 15000 hits).
It was also in the news thread and mentioned dozens of times in this forum, and hundreds of times in all the Boinc forums put together.

Anyway, good idea, so I also added it to my signature ;) ¬

I added a similar signature. Even with all of the notices, it is just natural to upgrade to the latest drivers. Please let us know when the newest drivers are tested and working. With all of the GTX 570s and 580s we use, you would think NVIDIA would care.
