Thats hard to say without some log line examples.

Is the project set to receive work ?
Did you suspend it or set \'no new work\' by accident ?

Try to exit boinc client and restart or shut down PS3 and restart.

I\'ve checked all of this. This is a server side problem. People are finishing WU but getting no new work. The number of WU available to send have increased over the past couple of days but the number of WU being crunched has decreased dramatically. One could infer that as they are being finished they are getting nothing in return, just as I am.

I\'m not alone, there is another thread in this forum: No Work From Project? claiming the exact same thing as I am. Just disregard the (On the server stats page the upload/download and scheduler server are listed as \'disabled\'.\" portion as this is irrelevant.

So when can I expect new work :\\

That\'s strange. Thanks to point it out. Wus were not sent out. I have now restarted the server and it seems to work.
Let us know if you see more problems.

It appears I now have a WU but I am not at home so I can\'t properly confirm this but all looks well. Thanks!

So I checked the WU, it appears to be moving along but BOINC records Zero percent done even though it has counted over 8 hours of crunch time. Does this seem normal?

Actually, I rebooted and the WU has completely started over again. Zero percent complete, zero time elapsed. I\'m going to abort this WU and try another.

Hi all,

After the server reboot (see http://www.ps3grid.net/forum_thread.php?id=112&nowrap=true#516) I sucesfully download two new work units, one is already completed ;-)

Unfortunately I didn\'t succeed in running PS3GRID and yoyo@home together, I suspect yoyo does not correctly free the SPE\'s after program termination...)

Kind regards, Iw@n

I\'m actually running at PS3GRID = 136.61 and Yoyo = 24 and SIMAP = 1.
I need the 24 for my other computers, but on the PS3 this gave me about 6 tasks a week for PS3GRID (until they got a little longer) and then 19 hours a week for Yoyo. I have not had any problems in the past 2 or 3 weeks running this way. Generally it will run PS3GRID and Yoyo and only fall back to some SIMAP if there is not work available from the others.

I will watch closely, but since my last restart I have 2 completed PS3GRID and the 3rd task running with a 4th ready to go, so it should only be a couple of more days before some yoyo has to run.

I\'ve been running these several months in combination, without any problem.

Do you have:
Leave applications in memory while suspended?
(suspended applications will consume swap space if \'yes\')
set to NO

if NO, this should remove the app from memory when switching occurs and that would have to release the SPE\'s.

Several of the users had this problem until changing above setting, then it went away.

...On the server stats page the upload/download and scheduler server are listed as \'disabled\'.

I\'m happy to report I found the answer to this and sent GDF the details which he was able to apply and get to tweek. Both the upload/download server and scheduler now show as green - running. This should solve some of the confusion. Thanks to GDF for fixing this for us.

From now on if there is something wrong and someone can not get work, check the status page to see if the server shows other than not running. If it is running and the work ready to send is greater than 0 you should get work. However, remember that page is usually cached, and updated every 15 or so minutes, the time of last update is shown on the page, so it is possible if the work available number is low, like 1, someone else could have already got the work and it has not updated the cached page yet to show the actual number, like 0. This applies to all projects.

The server status says everything is running as normal but I am getting \"no new work\" messages. I can\'t even force a WU to download by updating, restarting or resetting BOINC. In other words, I\'ve done everything on my end to fix the problem.

Thanks,

Tim

Hmmm... I can´t really help with this one, but have you also tried to detach and re- attach to the project?

Yes, I have done all of the above. This exact problem occurred awhile back:

http://www.ps3grid.net/PS3GRID/forum_thread.php?id=112

but specifically this message by GDF:

http://www.ps3grid.net/PS3GRID/forum_thread.php?id=112&nowrap=true#516

Sorry, these have been marked as spam so you\'ll need to cut and paste ;)

I see... I just noticed that I can´t get new work too.
I sent GDF an Email, let´s hope he will have a look at the server sometime soon...

BTW if your post is marked as spam because of a Link in it, just add some random text and it will pass the spam filter... ;)

Since this project is \"Out of Order\" might I suggest that everyone have a second project for their PS3 crunching needs. AFAIK, the only other project besides PS3grid that utilizes the full potential of all the PS3\'s power is yoyo@home.
