Just got my new Asus GTX 570 up and crunching on Win 7 and have been reading various tips in the forum. Regarding the "swan_sync" environment variable, what is the proper spelling? I've seen 3 different spellings in various posts here so I'm not sure. |

swan_sync works for me. Im not sure it matters if they are in capitals or not though. All recent Windows Versions (xp, 2003, Vista, Win7). |

Just tried the spelling 3 ways in Linux and only SWAN_SYNC worked. Swan_Sync and swan_sync both failed. Complete Linux command: in the file "profile" at /etc/ type "export SWAN_SYNC=0" (I don't actually think it matters which file you put the command in, so long as it is a file that is read during startup). |

In UBUNTU.10.10 be. Note Quotes are just not put them to separate in this text. We need to access and modify the file "/ etc / environment" which can be done in two ways (there are more) but these I think are the easiest. For more careful not to make a copy of the file, using the terminal put: "sudo cp / etc / environment / etc / environment.backup" and thereby generate a copy. A - If you have activated the option in the contextual menu "Open as administrator " to the folder "/ etc" and select Open as Administrator file "environment" edit it (in principle in this file will only see a line of the PATH) and add in the end, the following line: "SWAN_SYNC = 0" we keep it ready. Or can this another way: B - Medinat the terminal run the following line: First access the folder / etc using "cd / etc" Then edit the file "environment" by: "sudo gedit environment" and add the aforementioned final variable: "SWAN_SYNC = 0" stocked and ready. Reboot the system. |
