Hello, I currently have two GPUs in my computer, a strong one and a much weaker one. I need the strong one to play games from time to time, the weaker one is mainly needed because I have more than 2 monitors connected to my computer. To use both cards, I already put the <use_all_gpus>-Tag on the cc_config.xml. I would like to run gpu tasks on both cards (one for each). However, when a task is running on the weak card, it can't properly handle the display anymore, so on on of my monitors, everythin is lagging. The stronger card does no have these problems. In BOINC, I only found an option that either allows the use of gpu while the computer is used, or does not allow. What I need is an option to make a distinct option for my two cards now. I would like the strong card to run all the time, and the weak card only when the computer is idle (when I'm not at home, at night or similar). Is this possible somehow? |

Don't use your GeForce 8400 GS; it is not powerful enough to finish tasks in time, and going by your results it fails just about every task it gets. Overall this will reduce your credit and increase the chances of getting new tasks. It will reduce your credit because some tasks that start running on the GTX460 will end up running and then failing on the 8400. Configure your cc_config.xml file to <use_all_gpus>0</use_all_gpus>. |

Hm, if it's too slow anyway, I will change to using my main card only, thanks for the tip. I guess the fact that the card can't even handle the display properly is linked to the tasks failing, so there's no use of trying to get a setup is I described it. |

It is an interesting challenge however; to be able to control cards individually. It's basically down to Boinc to make these changes. You could manually do it by suspending tasks, but it would be useful to be able to pick which card to snooze, and how long for. Good luck Michael, |
