I am running Ubuntu 10.04 64bit with Nvidia dev. driver ver. 260.24 and CUDA ver. 3.2RC. BOINC is ver. 6.10.17. When requesting tasks from the GPUGRID project, the server answers "Your computer has no NVIDIA GPU". This is obviously not the case, as I have a Tesla C2050 in the computer. Is BOINC too old? I am reluctant to upgrade it, because I am afraid installing a non-Ubuntu packaged version will break the existing BOINC setup. |

Open terminal & type $ sudo /etc/init.d/boinc-client restart Every time you restart Ubuntu.

How strange - that worked, thanks. Can you explain why this is necessary? Is BOINC otherwise started before the Nvidia driver is properly loaded or something like that? |

Sorry, I'm a Linux illiterate, but it seams to be the case. But I found this thread & he even offers a solution, although I haven't tried it myself. 3~6 second delay
