GDF and team are really advancing the specific bio-molecular projects they are investigating but also grid computing in general and acknowledge all participants. They also reach out to others in their local scientific community (I know they ran a project with their app for someone else) but also through seminar participation (they frequently make presentations at seminars). On top of that they have a series of videos of the simulations and also one that explains what their approach is from a very simplistic layman’s view (which is only one I can actually follow). Combine all that with their relentless work on finding the best technology be it PSU which was their original public appearance, through to CUDA, their past research and testing on multi core CPU, and all their current work on trying to ATI and OpenCL up to speed. For all of this I applaud GPUGrid and think they are at the forefront of all they do. Thanks - Steve |

Added to all the praise above is that fact that GPUGrid is doing real science. The very long list of academic publications is testament to both the project's scientific credibility and the prolific output of the research team. The team is doing a great job and I'm a proud supporter. I also appreciate the variety of projects and the constant innovation. Fermi's were supported not long after release (and I'm looking forward to optimisation for the GTX460). This isn't a project for BOINC points junkies. It's a project for those willing to follow the science, keep crunching, keep testing new projects (and yes that involves the occasional failed WU) and who enjoy making a contribution to something useful. GDF and the team have created something unique on BOINC for GPU crunchers. |
