As of 11:30pm EST, I see approx. 150 GPU Results ready to send. I imagine that will go quick given there are 4000 in process.

It may just be a reporting error?

State . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . acemd, acemd2, acemdbeta
GPU Results ready to send; 0 , . . . . 0 , . . . . 17

I continued to pick up tasks overnight, and received one task less than 30min ago.

It's zero at the moment...
But I've received a task 15 minutes ago.
Since I edited this post, it's changed to 1 :) and then back to 0.
I guess, we pick up tasks faster than they generated, until every host fills up it's queue to 2 tasks/GPU.

We recently discontinued some batches of WUs plus workflows coming to its end.
We are preparing some new jobs to be submitted between today and tomorrow.

The sooner the better :)
One of my GPU is going to run dry in 30 minutes.
Many other fast GPU will do the same soon.
BTW for faster GPUs the wu cache size could be larger than 2...

Here also are one user who like bigger cache. Maybe 5 - 6 wu's is good.

My fastest machine ran dry a few hours ago. It's going to another project for a while. A bigger queue for faster GPUs would help.

I'm getting:

Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks

Looks like GPU GRID is out of work. Server status is showing zero units available, 17 beta units.

Id like to see at least a 24-hour cache just in case something goes wrong with the server. Currently if GPUGRID goes down for something, I'm dry in 5-6 hours with this ridiculous max queue of 4 WUs. This is the most restricted DC project out there when it comes to the size of the buffer.

Bad timing for me... All my Linux + Nvidia machines run either GPUGrid or GPUGrid + DNETC. Guess what's down for maint? Yup, DNETC. But so far only 1 GT8800 high and dry. How it ran dry and the GTX/GTS cards are still working I don't know but I'm sure it's just a coincidence of timing but I do need to see why it didn't have more DNETC que'd up.DNETC is supposed to be back up at 10pm (CDT) tonight so there's some relief soon there if the Linux boys wanna play with an "Alpha" project.

As ignasi said, new jobs are to be submitted between today and tomorrow. So expect some more intermittent periods/outages for a few hours.

I have hooked a GTX260 up to MW overnight, as it ran dry. It has a low cache and GPUGrid is still selected, but I will check in tomorrow morning.
Fortunately my Fermi has a running task and one in the queue, good for a few hours yet. My other lesser cards (mostly GT240’s) might run dry overnight, but I will leave it until the morning before I hook them up elsewhere, if required.
If my Fermi is dry in the morning I will hook it up to Folding and keep checking the GPUGrid Server Status and the site for news.

I'd sort of wished that they could announce downtime. I've often wanted to experiment with other Linux Distribution's but don't, because it would mean downtime on my side. But I need to prepare & can't always do this on the fly.

Looks like there is still a shortage, but it was not a complete outage.
A couple of my cards are still waiting but I picked 3 tasks up overnight and 2 this morning:

2885215 1841306 27 Aug 2010 8:33:33 UTC 1 Sep 2010 8:33:33 UTC In progress --- --- --- --- ACEMD2: GPU molecular dynamics v6.05 (cuda)

One was an IBUCH_freebind_pYEEI and the other was a TONI_CAPBIND.

Hi
Normally keep a 0.00 cache but by increasing to 0.20 the computer keeps pounding away at the server and has managed to find another WU and so far,the luck is in and has been kept fully employed :).
Picked up This.
Is this one of the new breed of tasks? if so bring them on,took 10.75 hours on a gtx 275 with a 38 mb upload!
Would not like to get one of these on my little 240 though :)
Chris.

I have a full complement of tasks in progress again.
I watched the number of tasks waiting to be sent fall from 287 to 280 in about 5min.

aet35-IBUCH_GCY_100625-39-40-RND7046 looks promising; your GTX275 would get about 45K per day on Win7 crunching those work units 24/7. Looked at a couple of other tasks you recently ran, and they were giving you about 35K per day. But it is only one task type.

I got on my GT240 one of the new tasks with the name 29-IBUCH_revhi_TRYP_100827-0-10-RND3357 .
The estimated given runtime was ~16 hours, but is increasing now.
Extrapolated with the runtime so far, it will run 33½ hours.
That would mean I will not longer be able to go for 50% bonus :(

Please extend the 50% bonus period to 2 days, so also slower cards (however GT240 is not really slow) are able to return fast enough.

Regards,

CP

These are a special case. We needed to make them longer to speed up the calculations. We are waiting for these results to finish a paper.

We were not expecting to run dry. For coincidence a couple of large batches finished at the same time.

You will still get the 25% bonus, and as these are about 30% faster you should get slightly more points than you would crunching normal work units for the same time period:
125% X 1.3 > 150%
