I'm running AMD Ageia 9600 (2.6 quad core) and the GTX 260 with latest drivers (up to this thread date) and ALL of my GPUGRID work has computing errors. NONE of my works is getting done. Help! Thanks |

What else are you doing with your system? Playing games, crunching with CPU, watching DVD??? You are getting far into task runs before they fail, so it could be related to other activity or overheating. |

If you have the A revision ones this is a known issue. You'll need to grab a copy of GPU-Z to determine if you have an A revision (65nm) or a B revision (55nm) GTX260. If its a recent model (ie B revision) then it should work. Do you have other cards in the machine? If so make sure multi-GPU mode is disabled in nvidia control panel. BOINC blog |

There was also someone have troubles with a GTX260 in this thread & solved it this way. Message 18338 But how is your temps? Heat makes it more prone to errors, so increasing the voltage if the problem is heat, will only make more heat. If you use Windows as I see in your details. Try checking out Nvidia Control Panel Performance Group Do you run SLI with the other card used for PhysX. Turn this off, disable SLI, it doesn't work with GPUGRID.

I have the revision A. I know that for sure. I'm also running the GTX 260 Black Edition, which is overclocked from the factory. When I do play games, I snooze BOINC everytime I play. I'll have to check my temps. |

Looks like I'm holding a solid 72-73 on my GPU. Don't think heats the issue. Specs are as follows: MOBO: ASUS M4N82 Deluxe AM3/AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI AMD Motherboard CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 Agena 2.6GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor HD995ZXAGHBOX w/ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler RAM: OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2RPR10664GK VGA: XFX GX260NADBF GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card I just ordered a pair of EVGA GTX 460's yesterday to run in SLI on this machine. What kind of setting changes will I need to make to do so I can run successful tasks? Also, how do you put up your stats for a sig? I know the link address for the gif but how do I set it on here? |

You cannot use SLI to crunch; 1 task only per card. You will need to install the latest NVidia driver for your new GTX460's. You should configure Boinc to use 3 of your 4 CPU cores (Use 75% CPU), Edit your cc_config file to report tasks immediately, and configure the swan_sync=0 system variable. See this thread for details. WRT your Sig: http://www.gpugrid.net/create_profile.php |

I have the same one, no chance to crunch GPUGRID now. |

After trying a9800GTX, good for SETI CUDA, but not very fast. Tried to add a GTX470, no go, incompatability? Only a GTX470, works OK . (Also 2 SETTI CUDA at a time) Now an GTX480, had to use both power connectors, 1x8pin;17A, 1x6pin;17A and the current through the Mobo (ASUS P5E)CPU=QX9650. 4GiG DDR2 DRAM (422MHz-stick)(x4x5/6=FSB) WU 1. WU 2, with 470 . Is there also an ATI GPU app., cause I have a host (Q6600)with an HD5770 & EAH 4850. Knight Who Says Ni N! |

There is no ATI app at present. You can get an idea of the situation in this thread, http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=1458. Some day your 5770 might work here, but not the 4850. Your GTX470 and GTX480 both completed tasks successfully at GPUGrid (no failures). Going by your results your configuration is OK, but you might want to read this thread, http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=2123 |

Hi SKG , read the thread, quite a long one, also have a Q6600 host with an HD5770 & EAH4850, currently running MW (4850, Double Precision) and Collatz C. which run at both card's (5770 is an Single Precision GPU) Also involved in SETI-Bêta AstroPulse, ATI-GPU testing and have the SDK 2.2 installed, but AP tasks to test. First going to install the app. in SETI Main. I'll watch the forums over here, so I can run GPUGrid on ATI GPU. Running 3 XP x86, 1 VISTA 32 Home Premium and 1 XP64 (+GTX480) Knight Who Says Ni N! |

I see you have your ATI cards well occupied elsewhere. Good to hear you are keeping yourself busy. Hope you get your GTX470 running tasks here again. It’s a good card, especially here. XP and Linux X64 are best for GPUGrid, due to the complexities of the apps/WU’s and the Vista/Win7 user interface. Good luck, |

I've installed a pair of GTX 460 1024MB cards and WOW!!!! It seems the Black Edition does not handle GPUGRID well after a driver set from a year ago. I have these cards running SLI and it still uses each card. I'm running some high WU's now. It's crazy! |

So SLI can be left on now, at least for GTX460's? What are your clocks at? Because you have two cards in the one system, you should make sure the fan speeds are good (keep an eye on the card temps - GPUZ). - The older drivers (from before the release of the GTX460) cannot work with the GTX460. You might want to try the latest Beta driver - it's slightly faster for other Fermi cards, and should be for the GTX460. It might even report the correct shader speeds. Have you left one CPU Core free for the cards, and are you using swan_sync=0? |

So SLI can be left on now, at least for GTX460's? I haven't left a core free. It just uses 0.08 cpu + 1 nvidia card per gpugrid task. My drivers are running alright so I'm going to hold off on the beta driver for now. I don't know what swan_sync is. What does it do? |

I freed up one core and it still runs the same. 0.08 cpu + 1 nvidia card. Does freeing up a processor really make a difference or did I not do it right? |

Had a look at BOINC and found, GPUGrid WU using 0.18CPU+ 1 GPU, (GTX470 & 480), but enough CPU resources to run another, CPU-only task. Didn't find any speed decrease. Also crunch SETI MB WU's and run 2 at a time on each card, whitout loss in crunching speed or screen-lag. Since English isn't my native language, faults are inevetable. Last 'summer', my GTS250 and also the 9800GTX+, started making errors, which all were a direct result from heat build-up and removed one side of the case and turned it 90 degrees, it lies on one side, just like those, Desk-Tops, PSU, on top in the case suffered from the heat as well and stopped repeatedly.
