Hi, I have a problem with WUs upload. It lasts for several months and I do not know how to fix it. When finished WU is uploading to your server my internet connection terminates. Not every WUs causes this. About 70% is uploaded without a problem. DSL modem reset reconnects my pc to internet but new gpugrid wu upload attempt sends it down again after several seconds. Sometimes 10-20 DSL modem resets help, sometimes not. Next day this upload continues without a problem. No other project that I'm computing does this. Does anybody know what should I do? I would like to proceed GPUGRID on my comp but with this problem lasting it will be replaced with MilkyWay or something else. I use Win7 64bit and modem ASUS WL-600G. Thank for replays in advance. 28.2.2010 21:06:55 GPUGRID Started upload of I70-OTTO_HERGflip656-6-100-RND3383_0_1 28.2.2010 21:06:55 GPUGRID Started upload of I70-OTTO_HERGflip656-6-100-RND3383_0_2 28.2.2010 21:06:58 GPUGRID [error] Error reported by file upload server: [I70-OTTO_HERGflip656-6-100-RND3383_0_1] locked by file_upload_handler PID=28378 28.2.2010 21:06:58 GPUGRID Temporarily failed upload of I70-OTTO_HERGflip656-6-100-RND3383_0_1: transient upload error 28.2.2010 21:06:58 GPUGRID Backing off 1 min 0 sec on upload of I70-OTTO_HERGflip656-6-100-RND3383_0_1 28.2.2010 21:06:58 GPUGRID Started upload of I70-OTTO_HERGflip656-6-100-RND3383_0_7 28.2.2010 21:07:01 GPUGRID Finished upload of I70-OTTO_HERGflip656-6-100-RND3383_0_7 28.2.2010 21:07:28 Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 28.2.2010 21:07:28 GPUGRID Temporarily failed upload of I70-OTTO_HERGflip656-6-100-RND3383_0_2: HTTP error 28.2.2010 21:07:28 GPUGRID Backing off 1 min 0 sec on upload of I70-OTTO_HERGflip656-6-100-RND3383_0_2 28.2.2010 21:07:29 BOINC can't access Internet - check network connection or proxy configuration. |

A recent discussion at ClimatePrediction pointed the finger at AVG - some people found that temporarily booting into 'Safe mode with networking' helped. Not a long-term solution, but might help you isolate the problem. |

Thank for your advice, unfortunatelly, it doesn't help :-( Is that because you don't use AVG, because the 'Safe mode' trick won't work with a GPU project (BOINC will suspend the tasks because it can't find the graphics driver - sorry, should have thought of that), or something else? |

Discussion in that same ClimatePrediction thread is continuing. ESET ESS has now been found to be blocking uploads, as well as AVG. |

It seems the reason is the NIC driver. Old version 2.4.7.4 of Attansic L1 seems working good now. I will see ... |

Sounds like a networking issues, of some sort. Could be your NIC, router/modem, your ISP cutting you off, or as you say a driver. |

You have a couple of machines listed as having a GTX275. I presume this is the same machine. You can merge them through the "Your account" web page if they are the same computer. Anyway I noticed that the win7 machine has BOINC 6.10.18. You might want to upgrade your BOINC client to the current recommended one (6.10.36 as I write this) which might help with the comms side, including restart of failed uploads. BOINC blog |
