I see that a few people have them, and there's a check box to "Add my signature to this post", but I haven't been able to find the place where I set up what goes in the signature. Could somebody give me a click by click map?

Click on the "Your account" link at the top of the page. Login and then click on the link for "Community preferences". You'll see a text box for your signature. Most of us use a signature image from one of the stats sites. Mine comes from BOINCstats.
