just checking a cpl of my machines and one has a completed Gianni WU siiting there completed.

It showed as "100%" uploaded (at some ridiculous rate) but was "stuck".
So I clicked update for GPU grid and it then showed 0% uploaded, with the following message:

Message tab:

[error] Error reported by file upload server: [50-Gianni_bind_751-18-100-RND0036_1_4] locked by file_upload_handler PID=9621

Temporarily failed upload of 50-Gianni etc : transient upload error.

Any ideas? the GTX275 does them reasonably quickly, but not quickly enough to throw completed WU's away.

Cheers

Returned to check machines again and it has uploaded itself successfully...

happy that THAT has happened, but still wondering what caused the error.

Guessing ... the error message says that it could not finish because xyz had a lock on the file ... so ... maybe it was almost finished and then the connection hiccuped and when your PC got a new one, the server still had a lock on the file to let the previous connection finish. At some point the server decides that the file lock should be released (because it never actually finished) and the next time your PC connected to try and finish ... viola ... no more lock , no more transient error, the transaction completes.
:-)
Thanks - Steve
